If you are unfamiliar with Decos but are interested in participating, please send me a message.

You will send 1 deco to your partner that matches the theme. When creating your deco, please be mindful of the size, shape, and embellishments. The deco needs to be a size that can be easily mailed. Remember, decos are meant to be small.

Also, be mindful of sticker usage when creating your deco and when filling in someone else’s. Stickers can play a great supporting role, but remember this is a deco and not a sticker book.

If you are making a fresh deco for this swap, please no staples! They are generally frowned upon as a method of binding. There are some great tutorials on YouTube and Pinterest for simple binding techniques.

Established decos are fine, but ONLY if they match the theme. No homers.

SWAP REQUIREMENTS: No unexplained 1’s or 3’s in the last 6 months. Log in to Swap-Bot 2 days before partners are assigned. Unrated swappers must have a well-filled-out profile (more than one section). I will review all swappers before assigning partners. I reserve the right to ban anyone I feel may pose a risk to other swappers. If needed, I will angel after you have contacted your partner and rated accordingly.

For those interested in participating but are new to decos, please read this.

Here's a simple description of decos. I've also included a description of friendship books because they are mentioned in the decos description.

Decos – A deco is similar to a friendship book, and there is a wide variety of types. It is a bound book (staples are frowned upon) of pages that are sent around the world. The person that the book is “for” is usually listed on the cover, and when the book becomes full, it is sent back to them. Each person who receives and signs the deco will decorate page(s) according to the theme of the booklet (if there is one) and the instructions of the book. When they are done, they will put their postal/email address and sign their name. Typically, each entrant in the “deco” must use one full page to express themselves. Glitter, sequins, feathers, and other scrapbooking supplies are frequently used in “decos” (be mindful of size as it will continue to grow when sent around). Despite the artistic expressions used in these types of friendship books, the basic rules of passing the friendship book from person to person are the same.

Friendship Book (FB) – A booklet that is passed via the mail from person to person. It includes addresses of all the signers and is intended for the recipient to find new penpals and/or swap partners. It is generally made of a few pages of paper (any size, but usually made to fit in a standard-size envelope) stapled together. The cover or front page includes who made the booklet (complete with name and address) and for whom the booklet was made (complete with name and address). The rest of the booklet is reserved for the “signers.” The person who signs the last available space then sends the booklet back home to the person the booklet was created for.
